Description

Quick Summary:

The Janome Skyline S6 Anniversary Edition is the ultimate "sweet spot" in the Skyline series, bringing high-end professional feeding features into a highly accessible, easy-to-use package. By stepping up to a bold 9mm stitch width and integrating Janome's legendary AcuFeed Flex™ layered fabric feeding system, this machine gives you absolute control over tricky, slippery, or thick fabrics.
With speeds up to 1,000 stitches per minute and a spacious 8.3-inch workspace, it is ready to tackle voluminous quilts, heavy denim coats, and delicate knit dresses with equal ease. It offers the robust, heavy-duty feel of a top-tier machine, but keeps navigation straightforward with a clean LCD touch pad rather than a complex computer screen.

Best for:

This machine sits proudly in our "Advanced" tier. It is designed for advanced sewists and ambitious garment makers who require precision fabric handling for slippery fabrics or thick, stretchy knits. If you are frustrated by puckered seams and mismatched plaids and want a machine that feeds perfectly from both the top and bottom, the S6 AE is your perfect match.

Why we Love it:

We love the Skyline S6 Anniversary Edition because it brings Janome's premium AcuFeed Flex system down to a more accessible price point. We know that garment sewists desperately need the precision of a walking foot system for knits and matched seams, but they don't always want to pay for hundreds of extra decorative stitches or massive touchscreens. The S6 AE delivers exactly the power and precision our apparel community needs.

Key Features:

  • Flawless Fabric Feeding: The AcuFeed Flex™ system feeds the top and bottom layers of your fabric in perfect sync, meaning your plaids will match flawlessly and slippery knits won't stretch out of shape.
  • Bolder Decorative Stitching: Because it utilizes a wide 9mm stitch width, your built-in decorative stitches and buttonholes will look dramatically bolder and more prominent than on standard 7mm machines.
  • High-Speed Stability: Weighing in at 23.6 lbs, this heavy-duty computerized machine drastically reduces vibration, ensuring smooth, even stitches even when you push the speed control slider to 1,000 SPM.

Specifications:

  • Speed: Up to 1,000 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
  • Workspace: 8.3" x 4.7" with free-arm capability
  • Stitches: 196 built-in stitches, 10 one-step buttonholes, and 4 alphabet fonts
  • Max Stitch Width / Length: 9mm width / 5mm length
  • Feed System: AcuFeed Flex™ Fabric Feeding System & 7-Piece Feed Dog
  • Convenience: LCD display with touch pad, automatic thread cutter, Superior Needle Threader 2, start/stop button, and adjustable knee lifter
  • Included Feet: 11 standard feet (including the AcuFeed Flex Dual Feed foot) plus an extra-wide extension table

FAQ:

Does it have a free arm? Yes! You can easily remove the accessory storage box to access the free arm, making it simple to sew tubular items like sleeves, cuffs, and pant hems.
Does it come with an extension table? Yes, the Anniversary Edition of the Skyline S6 includes the extra-wide extension table right in the box, giving you a massive, flat surface for supporting heavy coats or quilts.
Can I sew knits with this machine? Absolutely. Between the AcuFeed Flex system perfectly feeding your layers and the adjustable presser foot pressure dial, you can sew highly stretchable knits like cotton spandex or French terry without any waving or puckering.

Things to Know Before Buying:

Because the Skyline S6 AE is a 9mm machine, you must ensure you only use 9mm-compatible presser feet and accessories to avoid needle strikes. Additionally, while it is a computerized machine, it uses a push-button LCD touch pad for stitch selection. If you prefer a full-color, interactive touchscreen to swipe through your stitches, you will want to look at the next model up, the Skyline S7 AE.

Closest Comparisons:
  • Janome Skyline S6 AE vs. Skyline S3 AE: The S6 AE is a significant upgrade over the S3 AE. While the S3 has a 7mm stitch width and standard feeding, the S6 jumps to a 9mm stitch width, a faster 1,000 SPM, and upgrades the feed system to the AcuFeed Flex walking foot system for ultimate heavy-duty fabric handling.
  • Janome Skyline S6 AE vs. Skyline S7 AE: Both are incredible 9mm machines with AcuFeed Flex. However, the S7 AE upgrades you to a large color LCD touchscreen, boosts the stitch count to 350, adds an automatic presser foot lift, and provides a slightly faster top speed of 1,060 SPM. The S6 AE is perfect if you want the AcuFeed mechanics but prefer simpler, push-button navigation.

Are your fabrics sold by the yard or half yard?

Everything's sold by the yard with a few exceptions.  Certain Ribbing & Quilting Cottons are sold by the half yard (but this is stated in the title).

What is your order processing time?

As of Feb 20th, we're zipping through orders in 2-4 business days! 🚀 Please be patient with fabric bundles though, these do take us just a little be longer since they are curated specially for you.

Just a heads up, though - during the holiday frenzy or after a mega sale like Black Friday, it might take up to 10 business days. We're on it, though, aiming to get those gorgeous fabrics in your hands within 5 days!

Do you Combine Shipping?

Absolutely! Place any orders within 3 business days of each other, and we'll snug them together. If they're further apart, just shoot us an email at bohofabrics@gmail.com, and we'll see what we can do. Any shipping overages will come back to you as a Boho Giftcard. 🎁

Do you Refund Shipping Overages?

Great News!  We now offer FREE SHIPPING for all orders over $175 within the Contiguous USA!  If your order is less than $175, we offer flat rate shipping for $12.95.  Due to our new Flat Rate Shipping policy, we do not refund shipping overages.

Can I cancel my order?

You bet, as long as we haven't printed that shipping label. We'll refund your order minus a 5% fee.

How much is Shipping?

For orders over $175, shipping's on us within the Contiguous USA! Orders under $175 have a flat rate of $12.95. Really big orders might need to bypass PO Boxes and head straight to a traditional address via UPS or FedEx.

*Excludes Shipping to PO Boxes, Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico. Shipping overages will be invoiced to customers for packages being shipped to those regions.

What is your Return Policy?

Gotcha covered! If the fabric isn't quite what you envisioned, send it back within 14 days of receiving it, uncut and unwashed, for a refund

Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable as this is a cost incurred and not refunded to us by the carriers.

We recommend obtaining tracking for any returns you send as well as sending us an email so that we can be on alert for the package (and to process your return faster!)

Please send returns to:
