Quick Summary:
Best for:
This machine sits proudly in our "Advanced" tier. It is designed for advanced sewists and ambitious garment makers who require precision fabric handling for slippery fabrics or thick, stretchy knits. If you are frustrated by puckered seams and mismatched plaids and want a machine that feeds perfectly from both the top and bottom, the S6 AE is your perfect match.
Why we Love it:
Key Features:
- Flawless Fabric Feeding: The AcuFeed Flex™ system feeds the top and bottom layers of your fabric in perfect sync, meaning your plaids will match flawlessly and slippery knits won't stretch out of shape.
- Bolder Decorative Stitching: Because it utilizes a wide 9mm stitch width, your built-in decorative stitches and buttonholes will look dramatically bolder and more prominent than on standard 7mm machines.
- High-Speed Stability: Weighing in at 23.6 lbs, this heavy-duty computerized machine drastically reduces vibration, ensuring smooth, even stitches even when you push the speed control slider to 1,000 SPM.
Specifications:
- Speed: Up to 1,000 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
- Workspace: 8.3" x 4.7" with free-arm capability
- Stitches: 196 built-in stitches, 10 one-step buttonholes, and 4 alphabet fonts
- Max Stitch Width / Length: 9mm width / 5mm length
- Feed System: AcuFeed Flex™ Fabric Feeding System & 7-Piece Feed Dog
- Convenience: LCD display with touch pad, automatic thread cutter, Superior Needle Threader 2, start/stop button, and adjustable knee lifter
- Included Feet: 11 standard feet (including the AcuFeed Flex Dual Feed foot) plus an extra-wide extension table
FAQ:
- Janome Skyline S6 AE vs. Skyline S3 AE: The S6 AE is a significant upgrade over the S3 AE. While the S3 has a 7mm stitch width and standard feeding, the S6 jumps to a 9mm stitch width, a faster 1,000 SPM, and upgrades the feed system to the AcuFeed Flex walking foot system for ultimate heavy-duty fabric handling.
- Janome Skyline S6 AE vs. Skyline S7 AE: Both are incredible 9mm machines with AcuFeed Flex. However, the S7 AE upgrades you to a large color LCD touchscreen, boosts the stitch count to 350, adds an automatic presser foot lift, and provides a slightly faster top speed of 1,060 SPM. The S6 AE is perfect if you want the AcuFeed mechanics but prefer simpler, push-button navigation.

Are your fabrics sold by the yard or half yard?
Everything's sold by the yard with a few exceptions. Certain Ribbing & Quilting Cottons are sold by the half yard (but this is stated in the title).
What is your order processing time?
As of Feb 20th, we're zipping through orders in 2-4 business days! 🚀 Please be patient with fabric bundles though, these do take us just a little be longer since they are curated specially for you.
Just a heads up, though - during the holiday frenzy or after a mega sale like Black Friday, it might take up to 10 business days. We're on it, though, aiming to get those gorgeous fabrics in your hands within 5 days!
Do you Combine Shipping?
Absolutely! Place any orders within 3 business days of each other, and we'll snug them together. If they're further apart, just shoot us an email at bohofabrics@gmail.com, and we'll see what we can do. Any shipping overages will come back to you as a Boho Giftcard. 🎁
Do you Refund Shipping Overages?

Can I cancel my order?
You bet, as long as we haven't printed that shipping label. We'll refund your order minus a 5% fee.
How much is Shipping?
For orders over $175, shipping's on us within the Contiguous USA! Orders under $175 have a flat rate of $12.95. Really big orders might need to bypass PO Boxes and head straight to a traditional address via UPS or FedEx.

What is your Return Policy?
Gotcha covered! If the fabric isn't quite what you envisioned, send it back within 14 days of receiving it, uncut and unwashed, for a refund
Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable as this is a cost incurred and not refunded to us by the carriers.
We recommend obtaining tracking for any returns you send as well as sending us an email so that we can be on alert for the package (and to process your return faster!)
